Center For Siouxland Receives HUD GrantOctober 08, 2007The Department of Housing and Urban Development has announced that Center For Siouxland has been awarded a $50,000 grant to support housing Counseling. This comprehensive housing counseling grant will assist families in becoming first-time homeowners and remaining homeowner’s after their purchase.
Buying a home is one of the most significant financial decisions an individual will make in their lifetime. Counseling to learn about interest rates, repayment terms, appraisals, etc. can simplify the process and give the consumer the knowledge to make an informed decision during the purchasing process. By being able to access this information in advance of making a home purchase it is hoped that the consumer will avoid contract conditions that may eventually lead to foreclosure. For those with delinquent mortgages counseling is also available. Center For Siouxland’s Consumer Credit Counseling department is the organization certified by HUD to provide Housing counseling in Northwest Iowa.
