Help Fight Hunger

March 05, 2009

Center For Siouxland will be participating in the 2009 12th Annual Alan Shawn Feinstein $1 Million Dollar Giveaway to fight hunger.  In-kind food contributions made to Center For Siouxland during March and April will be counted along with financial donations made to the organization that are designated for the purchase of food.  The total of the items and financial donations will then be reported to the Feinstein Foundation.

The Feinstein Foundation sends a matching cash donation proportionate to the donations received during March and April to participating agencies for the purchase of additional food to help alleviate hunger.  The amount of the match is dependent on the number of organizations that participate nationally and the amount of donations raised by the organizations. If you are interested in conducting a food drive to help alleviate hunger in Siouxland please contact Center For Siouxland at 712-252-1861 ext. 41. If you are an individual that is not involved in a food drive but would like to donate food or cash, Center For Siouxland is located at 715 Douglas St. in Sioux City and is open 8:00 – 5:00 Monday through Friday.
