Hunger Heroes Recognized

Center For Siouxland’s Hunger Heroes Committee will honor those who have donated to Center For Siouxland’s food pantry at 8:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 23 at Morningside Lutheran Church. 

“Because of the generosity of churches, businesses, schools and individuals Center For Siouxland is able to help over 3,700 individuals annually in our community who do not have enough food,” states Kevin McManamy, Board Chair. He continues, “This event is our way of thanking them for choosing to make a difference in the lives of others.”

To get more information on how you can conduct a food drive or join the Hunger Heroes Committee, contact Center For Siouxland at 712-252-1861 ext. 41.

The agency is located at 715 Douglas St. and provides a wide array of services including Consumer Credit Counseling, Housing Counseling, the Conservatorship/Representative Payee Program, Bridges West Transitional Housing for the homeless, the 2-1-1 Center, the Retired/Senior Volunteer Program, the Senior Companion Program and Community Assistance with a food pantry, and prescription and utility assistance.
