2011 Annual Report Preview

We're finishing up our annual report summarizing Center For Siouxland's 2011 programs, and the impact we've had on the Siouxland community. It was a busy year, and some highlights from the report include:
- Our Certified Consumer Credit Counselors helped 696 people
- Volunteer coordinated through our Siouxland Volunteer Center contributed 6,679 hours valued at $112,007 to assist with sandbagging during the summer 2011 Missouri River flood
- At Bridges West we housed and assisted 45 homeless households
- RSVP volunteers helped 408 people file their income taxes
- We provided financial case management through our Representative Payee program for 738 people
- Our 2-1-1 help line provided information and referral to 4165 callers
- 5552 people in Siouxland received food from our pantry program (an increase of 54% over 2010)
- We helped 854 renters and homeowners with comprehensive housing counseling services

TAX SEASON UNDERWAY
Wed, Feb 1st, 2012Center For Siouxland to offer free tax help at four locations
Our RSVP Volunteers are gearing up for another busy tax season. We'll provide free assistance filing state and federal taxes at four locations this year starting on February 1, 2012:
- Our main office at 715 Douglas Street in Sioux City
- Siouxland Volunteer Center at 4600 South Lewis Blvd, Sioux City
- Western Iowa Tech Community College at 4647 Stone Blvd in Sioux CIty
- Woodbury County Library in Moville
Last year our volunteers assisted 408 low and moderate income people to file their taxes. The taxpayers we assisted received $550,780 in refunds and, of this, $152,787 was in the form of Earned Income Tax Credits.
