Scottish Rite Awards Grant to Center For SiouxlandNovember 10, 2009George Harrison representing the Sioux City Scottish Rite made a check presentation to Center For Siouxland’s Board of Directors on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at noon at Center For Siouxland located at 715 Douglas St. Scottish Rite awarded Center For Siouxland $1,200 to be used for installing automatic door openers for the agency’s front doors.
Russ Wermers, Board Chair, states, “We are truly thankful to the Scottish Rite for helping cover the financing of this project and without their donation we could not undertake such an improvement to our facility.” The cost to complete the entire project is $5,000 and the agency is accepting donations to defray the remaining expense.
Since 1975, Center For Siouxland has been providing comprehensive human services to the residents of our region, including: Consumer Credit Counseling, Client Trust, Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, and Community Assistance which includes a pantry, transitional housing for the homeless, prescription assistance, utility assistance and a 2-1-1 information and referral helpline.
