Socks Needed For Area ChildrenNovember 09, 2007Center For Siouxland’s Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is collecting warm socks for area children. Center For Siouxland collaborates with Goodwill Industries on this project by collecting the socks which are then distributed to local children at the Annual Goodwill Shoe Party.
RSVP organizers are requesting new socks, preferably white athletic socks. The socks can be deposited at a number of locations including: Calvary Lutheran Church, Third Presbyterian Church, First Covenant Church, Great West Casualty, Rhonda’s Speak Easy, Moville Evangelical Church, Sioux City Police Department, United Methodist Church in Moville, Vantus Bank and Center For Siouxland. Socks will be collected until November 30, 2007.
The Retired Senior Volunteer Program provides volunteer opportunities for those 55 years and older. These volunteers provide valuable services to improve the communities they reside in.
