Community Assistance Program

The Community Assistance Program is designed to help individuals and families with basic needs of food, prescription medicine, utility assistance, and shelter.  Individuals coming in for assistance are screened by staff who assess the person’s current situation, including verification of the circumstances which preceded the need.  Upon determining a legitimate need, individuals and families are provided food or financial assistance and given appropriate referrals, as well as a short term plan with an expectation of follow through.  Working closely with other agencies to access services appropriate for an individual and/or family is an important component of assisting a client.
