Consumer Credit Success Story

I met with a counselor at Consumer Credit Counseling a year ago to get a credit report pulled. I knew that my credit was going to be bad, but upon seeing my credit report I was shocked at the damage that I had done over the years. There were 3 pages of collection accounts for medical bills and old credit cards and it seemed as though the list was never ending. The counselor worked with me in going through my credit report and explained every piece of it. We also went through my budget in detail and set me up on a budget that was realistic for my income. After going through my budget I had some money left over to start working on my old debts. The counselor and I set up a workable plan to try and get the creditors I owed paid off. We decided that it would be best to start working on the smaller balances first, paying one off at a time. I have been working on my paying creditors off for a year now and I am closer to my goals than I have ever been. I have been taking financial education classes which have helped me keep on track with my budget and have helped me stay on track with my finances. Thanks to Consumer Credit I will soon be debt free and have a well established credit history!
